You get paid to travel!
I know I say that every time I write about work abroad opportunities, but this time it’s a fact. As a flight attendant, you REALLY get paid to travel. Your job is basically to be a professional jet-setter! While on some routes you may cover two continents in a week, on other routes you may cover as much as three countries per day. Crazyyy!
Everybody loves you
Even though being a flight attendant is much more attainable now than it was in the past, the profession is still very intriguing. People are always fascinated to hear that you work in the sky and want to know how you do it. Being a flight attendant still has a certain magic to it and draws people’s attention.
Flexible working times
This is something I just found out recently. Flight attendants get to choose the days as well as the flights they would like to work themselves. As long as you work the required number of hours per month, it is up to you what days and flights you choose. No mandatory Monday-Friday schedule or weekend shifts. But increased flexibility in your personal life.
If you live or work abroad, you gain a different type of independence, because you have to find your way around in a different country. Now imagine that 10-fold? Every day you are at a new destination, with a foreign culture and a different language. You learn to manage culturally challenging situations no matter where you are and gain a new sense of independence.
Even though I am a convinced backpacker, I must say I love staying in nice hotels. Why? Because of the beds and the breakfast! If you are a girl that likes to be spoiled sometimes, you will appreciate a comfortable bed and delicious breakfast buffet at a beautiful hotel. Flight attendants are often accommodated in some of the most beautiful hotels in the world, with great facilities and delicious food.

You get to see the world
I’m pretty sure, this is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about this job. Unlimited sightseeing! You travel to exotic destinations all over the world and visit some of the most amazing cities. You get to visit places that most people only dream about. All that as a part of your job.
More new friends
What better way to make new friends all over the world than with this career. Because of the nature of the job, flight attendants are assigned to different crew members for every shift. That means they meet new people constantly. While this can be a challenge, it is also a great opportunity to build lasting relationships with other passionate travelers. Who knows you might find your next Travelbff on the job!

Another major point is the staff travel discount. Even when you are off or on paid leave, you still benefit from your profession. Depending on the airline you are allowed to fly to any destination in the world as a standby passenger or with a discounted ticket.
